VA Fashion Week Mission Statement
VA Fashion Week was formed with the purpose of showcasing emerging designers and models from up and down the East Coast and to establish a world-class fashion event in Southeastern Virginia. We have been officially recognised by the City of Norfolk.
After five seasons of growth and increased recognition we are enthusiastically planning VAFW 2012 to be the year that surpasses all expectations.

The VAFW Team
ANN LEISTER
Ann Leister is the owner and director of Splash Model Management and has produced
or co-produced muliple fashion shows; including a show for Operation Smile featuring designers including Versace, Missoni, Moschino and others.
In addition, she has cast actors and models in regional and national commercials, TV shows, magazines and ad campaigns. She has a BA from The College of William & Mary and experience in real estate, advertising, human resources, video production, and the arts.
Having attended and studied fashion events in New York including Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, as well as shows in Washington DC, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Miami, Ann created the concept that has become VA Fashion Week as a way to bring NY style fashion shows to the Hampton Roads area and to spotlight the design talent, models, and creative talent that call this region home.
For 2010, Ann is working with each designer to make every show a unique experience and every featured designer a "star"!
RON COOKE
Ron Cooke is a nationally recognized fashion coordinator and stylist to
the celebrities having produced fashion shows during New York’s Fashion Week as well as in DC, Atlanta, Miami, and other regions. His
company Rogue Productions has worked with world renown designers, politicians, athletes, musicians, and actors. Ron is also an established stylist having dressed an assortment of
today’s hottest celebrities including Alicia Keys, Danny Glover, Lela Rashon and many others for various magazines, commercials, and events. Ron has worked with Ann on VA Fashion Week from the first show on.
Ron will be coordinating many of the boutique shows, several designer shows, as well as organizing many of the backstage activities in VA Fashion Week.
JEANETTE "COOKIE" DABNEY
Cookie Dabney from Washington, D.C. has been an active part of the modeling industry for the past 35 years. She has worked the Runways for major designers and been featured in magazines and tv commercials around Hampton Roads and the country. She has worked for internationally notable designers such as Liz Claiborne, Patrick Kelley,
and Mary McFadden to name a few. The Director of Cookie Dough Ltd., she is currently the “Official” Runway Coach for VAFW and teaches Runway Modeling to students who range in age from 13 on up as well as the Childrens’ Coordinator for the Naturally Me” Pageants being featured in Virginia and Washington, D.C.
DAWNITA XAMILIA ALSTON
Photographer Dawnita Xamilia Alston Having over 15 years experience and completing courses at the CACVA, Xamilia has adapted her own style and has become one of Virginia's most renowned
fashion,commercial and high impact portrait photographers her style and expertise in lighting has won her numerous awards for her work which was featured in today's photographer magazine.
Her style and expertise sets her apart from the rest.
Her work from various ad campaigns include such as Discount Auto Sounds Mobile Electronics, MA audio, and many more. IN THE WORDS OF FAMED PHOTOGRAPHER SANT'E D'ORAZIO whose client list include celebrities like Lisa Marie Presley, Naomi Campbell, Janet Jackson, John Travolta and a host of many more has stated "XAMILIA HAS A GOOD PHOTOGRAPHIC EYE".
She is the media coordinator for VA Fashion Week events.
JA LEISTER
JA Leister, assistant to the producers, has been helping with fashion shows for the past seven years. Now in college, she is available to assist any designer with their set-up, fittings, dressers, and any needs or concerns they may have. She also is a contributing writer for several blogs and media publications and will work with all participants in promoting their brand.
CARLA G
Carla G. has been a master educator for over 10 years. She is the C.E.O. of Another Level College of Cosmetology .Carla G. also is celebrity hair stylist and make-up artist . Her skills were performed on Rah Digga and models for the America's Next Top Model show and many more.Carla 's also is the hair and make up director for Rouges Gallery' s New York Fashion Week, Virginia Fashion Week and North Carolina Fashion Week!. Over all her accomplishments and talents her main and most important is her ministry.

DIALLO FERGUSON
Photographer/Videographer Diallo Ferguson is a Boston based media producer with tons of experience creating fashion imagery.
From Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York and Miami to Los Angeles and Boston Fashion Weeks, Diallo's televison program, A Passion 4Fashion
TV features runway shows from all across the country, with interviews and segments from emerging designers to well-established fashion powerhouses.
Diallo will be capturing and publishing a variety of
video content and is the official videographer for Virginia Fashion Week.
